The Government Fuels a Spending Inferno
ExxonMobil – made $19B is profits (2009) – It not only paid no federal income taxes, but RECEIVED a $156M rebate from the IRS, according to its SEC filings.
Chevron- the energy giant RECEIVED a $19M refund from the IRS last year after it posted $10B in profits (2009).
ConocoPhillips- 5th largest oil company in the US, made $16B in profits from 2007-2009, but RECEIVED $451M in tax breaks.
Valero – 25th largest company in America with $68B in sales last year and RECEIVED a $157M tax refund CHECK from the IRS.
