Madison Heights Police say a 15-month-old toddler was accidentally given alcohol mixed with apple juice at a local Applebee’s restaurant.
The toddler’s parents called police at 4:30 p.m. Friday when they noticed the toddler acting funny at the restaurant at 1275 E. 14 Mile Road, according to a statement by police.
Madison Heights Police officers discovered a leftover mixed drink combination, mislabeled as apple juice, was accidentally mixed with other apple juice then served to the child, according to a statement issued by the department.
“It’s being investigated by the detective bureau,” Sgt. Brenda Hillman said today.
She did not know if the restaurant or employees could be charged with a crime in connection with the incident.
