Actor Andrew Keegan found himself in trouble with police over the July 4th weekend, after a party he was throwing in Marina Del Ray, Calif. got out of hand.

According to TMZ.com, the 10 Things I Hate About You actor was asked by law enforcement officers to turn down the music at his bash, when he refused and "became very aggressive." Witnesses say Keegan, 32, was then slammed to the ground by cops and eventually tasered.

"He was tasered right in front of me," a party guest told UsMagazine.com. "Oh my God, it was so awful."

Another witness said that helicopters were circling the Venice Beach area and as many 15 police officers showed up to get a handle on the matter.

Keegan was taken away in handcuffs but not arrested. A police rep told TMZ.com the actor was simply detained and not tasered, but a source close to the actor had a different story and said Keegan was "very shaken up" by the ordeal.

"He was throwing a block party [and I] saw it happen," the insider said. "You could tell he was in pain."
