Maybe socialism could be like the Adopt-a Highway Program.  I mean, if we're going to be forced into paying for others, can we choose the ones we want to pay for?  We can take applications.  EHarmony can match me up with my best social case!  Maybe I could have one out-of-state and we could be pen-pals, I could visit the house I'm paying for on vacation!  The possibilities are endless...much like the amount of people who get serviced by the government while we keep serving up our paychecks.
