Dylan Favre, the 20-year-old nephew of Brett Favre, was arrested today in Mississippi on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
The Sun Herald newspaper in Mississippi reported Favre was arrested after a traffic stop in Pearl River County. Deputies found marijuana and paraphernalia-type items, Chief Deputy Shane Tucker of the Pearl River Sheriff's Department told the Sun Herald.
The Younger Favre seemed to have a promising college football career ahead of him after being named Mississippi's Mr. Football in 2009. He had thrown for 5,589 yards and 63 touchdowns while at St. Stanislaus High, and was named a Parade All-American.
But he transferred from Mississippi State to Pearl River Community College in December. At MSU, he played mostly on special teams, and at quarterback was only 13-for-26 for 119 yards last season.
In high school, he had one 549-yard passing game, and threw for 48 TDs his senior season.
