Bar Stabbing, Fecal Flinging at Wrigleyvil
le Bar Crawl
A North Side man ambushed a man in a Wrigleyville bathroom Sunday
morning, according to police, stabbing him in the neck with a broken
beer bottle.
Gregg Greaves, 23, was charged with one felony count of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.
Greaves stabbed the man at the Red Ivy Bar in Chicago, Police said.
While
it’s not confirmed Greaves was in Wrigleyville specifically for the
annual bar crawl nicknamed 'TBOX', the crime occurred during Saturday's
Twelve Bars of Christmas pub crawl. It starts at 8 a.m. and continues
all day.
According to the report, police were called to the Wrigleyville
bar around 12:30 Sunday morning. The 25-year-old victim told police he
walked into the men’s bathroom when Greaves jumped out of a stall and
attacked him with a broken beer bottle.
Greaves stabbed the man in the neck causing serious injuries, police
said. The victim pushed Greaves away, only to be cut on the neck again,
as well as his chin and hands, according to the report.
A
30-year-old bartender walked into the bathroom to find the bloody scene.
After being transferred to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in
Lake View, the victim was taken into surgery and is reported to be in
stable condition.
And while police confirm Greaves was drunk at the time of the
arrest, things took an unusual turn when he was taken back to the 19th
District Police Station on Addison Street.
According to the
report, Greaves became verbally abusive to officers during processing.
He started shouting obscenities and refused to wear his pants in the
station.
Then Greaves defecated into his bare hands and started throwing his
fecal matter on the floor in the processing room, police said.
Perhaps no one could spare a square.
