Texas schools adding armed officers
Part of President Barack Obama's gun violence plan unveiled
Wednesday suggests giving schools grant money to hire more armed
officers.
It is an expensive move some Texas schools are already making.
The Plano Independent School District near Dallas has a plan to
add private armed security guards on all campuses -- not just middle
schools and high schools.
Sinton ISD made it a done deal this
week. The school district near Corpus Christi is not only adding armed
guards on every campus, they are also installing fingerprint readers in
school buses to scan every student before they step on board.
In Central Texas, the Hays Consolidated Independent School District will be discussing the issue in the coming weeks.
Leave it to Texas to take things into their own hands.
