Obama 1st term approval rating: the worst in decades
President Barack Obama averaged 49.1% job approval during his
first term in office, among the lowest for post-World War II presidents.
Only Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford had lower job approval averages.
Obama's first-term average is most similar to Bill Clinton's. Lyndon
Johnson, John Kennedy, and Dwight Eisenhower were the most popular
first-term presidents.
At first glance these results make you wonder how a guy as unpopular
as Obama still managed to get reelected. Even Bush Sr. got a higher
approval rating, and he wasn't even reelected. Suspicious -
almost as suspicious as watching the mainstream media paw at him with
undying admiration and an almost perverted sense of obsession.
Suspicious indeed.
