Rep. Amash: McCain's Iran joke 'racist'
A joke made by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) about Iranian
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been criticized as "racist" by Rep.
Justin Amash (R-Mich.).
McCain tweeted about Ahmadinejad's
offer to be the first Iranian sent into space, linking it to last week’s
report that the country successfully put a monkey on a rocket.

The crack earned McCain some blowback on Twitter. When Rep. Amash responded:

Rep. Amash, you're a moron. It's pretty obvious
that McCain is calling Mahmoud a monkey, not ALL Iranians....and if
someone says they want to kill all Americans with a nuclear warhead
[Like the president of Iran, for example] , there is NOTHING you can say
about that person that is racist - racism should be the least of your concerns.
