THE BEATLES *ALMOST* REFORMED IN THE '70S:

The BEATLES have a pretty flawless legacy, but that could have changed if they would've reunited in the '70s . . . and that WAS a real possibility, according to PAUL MCCARTNEY.
In an interview with "Q" magazine, Paul said, quote, "There was a bit of talk of The Beatles at certain points.  What used to happen was three of us would fancy it and then maybe George [HARRISON] or John [LENNON] or I wouldn't.
"In a way it was a blessing.  We'd done it, why spoil it?  Whether it's God-given or not, those four people was a pretty good mix."

LIP-SYNCHING KEPT RUSH FROM PERFORMING AT THE OLYMPICS:
RUSH stud GEDDY LEE said that, as a Canadian band, they WERE offered a gig performing at this year's Winter Olympics, but they turned it down.  --He explained, quote, "Yeah, well, we had an opportunity to play, but there were all kinds of crazy rules going on about lip-synching and stuff like that.  That's just not our bag, man."
