Made in America Music Festival is anything but "American"
Beyonce, Nine Inch Nails, Deadmau5 and Phoenix are set to headline
the second edition of Budweiser's Made in America Festival in
Philadelphia.
The lineup for the fest, to be held on the
city's Benjamin Franklin Parkway from August 31st to September 1st, also
includes Queens of the Stone Age, Calvin Harris, Kendrick Lamar,
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, A$AP Rocky, Wiz Khalifa, the Gaslight Anthem,
Public Enemy and Solange.
The festival is being organized by rapper Jay-Z, who will not be performing.
Not
to get all technical, but if this is "Made in America" why is Deadmau5
performing? He's from Canada. Pheonix is from France. And while we're
on the subject, Calvin Harris is from Scottland.
This festival is about as "Made in America" as Sony, BMW &
Mitsubishi. Hell, even Taco Bell is more American than this festival.
Of course lets not forget headliner Beyonce and concert organizer Jay-Z, palling around in Cuba this past week. They're so American that they vacation in Communist Cuba? Makes sense.
They claimed the trip was "Educational".
